Universal Orlando will get new points of interest

New Spider-Guy ride opens in MarchUniversal revealed plans Wednesday to include new points of interest to the Orlando amusement park this season included in the company's celebration of their 100th anniversary. The primary attraction is "Universal's Motion picture Spectacular," a night time light and pyrotechnics show, read by Morgan Freeman, which will project images from U movies onto three screens produced by waterfalls in the center of Universal Galleries Florida's lagoon. The 20-minute show will bow this spring. "This really is greatly a large finish-of-day spectacular," stated Jim Timon, Universal Orlando's senior Vice president of entertainment. "This is actually the large show we send our visitors served by, using the Universal logo and message and emotion and impact." Concept is comparable to those of Disneyland's "Realm of Color," that has demonstrated a large draw at California Adventure, particularly with families -- and U is searching to draw in more families to the own parks. Playing into that theme, Universal will even introduce early in the year a regular "Celebrity Parade" featuring floats with figures from "Wretched Me," "Hop," "SpongeBob SquarePants" and "Dora the Explorer." Each float is made to act as its very own show with effects and musical score that may be featured round the park if not within the parade. Universal parks only from time to time offered character parades, mainly throughout the holiday season they're commonplace at Disney's locations. The nightly show and daily parade are the most known additions since U opened up the "Wizarding Realm of Harry Potter" attraction this year. But Universal is at the time of opening more rides and points of interest within the Orlando resort's history, and they're going to be featured inside a new "Year to become Here" campaign. An up-to-date "Amazing Adventures of Spider-Guy" ride, at Islands of chance, opens in March with new 4K-high-definition three dimensional technology, character designs, new ride effects and cameo from comicbook icon Stan Lee. "It's actually a mind-dazzling presentation, whenever you consider the imagery," stated Mark Woodbury, prexy of Universal Creative for that company's amusement parks. "When Spider-Guy jumps to the vehicle, you will see every thread of his costume, and also the particulars behind him are wealthy and deep and full and extremely spectacular." After already announcing intends to develop a three dimensional ride according to "Wretched Me," U introduced that "Wretched Me Minion Mayhem" will open this summer time and replace "Jimmy Neutron's Nicktoon Blast." Ride will feature the voices of stars Steve Carell, Miranda Cosgrove and Elsie Fisher his or her figures. Orlando's CityWalk complex also will get a Hollywood Drive-In nineteen fifties B-movie-designed 36-hole miniature course, set to spread out in Feb. And also the Blue Guy Group returns in Feb with a brand new show and props. Contact Marc Graser at marc.graser@variety.com
